Dipole length
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003241
A derived quantity representing the separation distance between two opposite elementary charges that would produce a given electric dipole moment. It is calculated by dividing the magnitude of the electric dipole moment of a system, such as a molecule, by the value of the elementary charge (e). This provides a simple, intuitive measure of the extent of charge separation, expressed in units of length like meters or angstroms.
