Diradicals
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003246
Molecular species possessing two unpaired electrons, where the two radical centers are sufficiently separated that they do not strongly interact. These can exist in either a singlet state, where the electron spins are paired, or a triplet state, where the spins are parallel. The energy difference between these states dictates their reactivity and spectroscopic properties.
