Ecological imbalance

A disruption in the natural equilibrium of an ecosystem, leading to alterations in its structure, function, or species composition. This can result from natural disturbances or anthropogenic activities, such as pollution, habitat destruction, or the introduction of invasive species. It often manifests as a decline in biodiversity or a shift in dominant species.
