Einzel lens
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003615
An electrostatic lens system used to focus charged particle beams, such as electrons or ions, without changing their kinetic energy. It consists of three or more coaxial electrodes, with the outer electrodes held at the same potential while the central electrode's potential is varied. This lens is commonly employed in mass spectrometers and electron microscopes to manipulate beam trajectories.
