Accelerating potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000091
The electric potential difference applied to accelerate charged particles, such as ions or electrons, in instruments like mass spectrometers or electron microscopes. This potential imparts kinetic energy to the particles, determining their velocity and trajectory. It is typically measured in volts (V) or kilovolts (kV).
