Extractor voltage
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004298
The electrical potential applied to an electrode, known as an extractor, in an ion source or mass spectrometer. This voltage is used to draw ions out of the ionization region and accelerate them into the mass analyzer. The magnitude of the extractor voltage directly influences the kinetic energy of the ions and their subsequent trajectory within the instrument.
