Sample voltage
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010500
The electrical potential applied to a sample during certain surface analysis techniques, such as secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) or scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This voltage can be used to control the energy of incident ions or electrons, or to extract secondary ions or electrons from the sample surface. It influences the detection sensitivity and spatial resolution.
