Electron spectrometer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003737
An instrument designed to measure the kinetic energy distribution of electrons emitted from a sample, often after excitation by photons or other electrons. It consists of an electron energy analyzer, electron detectors, and an electron lens system for focusing. These devices are central to surface sensitive analytical techniques such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Auger electron spectroscopy.
