Electrochemiluminescence assay
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003664
An analytical technique that measures light produced from a chemical reaction initiated by an electrochemical process at an electrode surface. The assay uses labels, such as ruthenium complexes, that emit light upon electrochemical stimulation, allowing for the highly sensitive quantification of an analyte. This method is widely applied in clinical diagnostics for measuring hormones, proteins, and nucleic acids.
