Electrochromic polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003665
A polymeric material that undergoes a reversible change in its optical properties, such as color or transparency, when an electric potential is applied. This change is typically due to redox reactions that alter the electronic structure of the polymer, leading to different light absorption characteristics. These polymers are used in smart windows, displays, and rearview mirrors.
