Stimulus-responsive polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011421

A polymer material that exhibits a noticeable and often reversible change in its properties, such as solubility, conformation, or volume, when exposed to specific external environmental cues. These cues can include variations in temperature, pH, light, electric fields, or the presence of certain chemical species. Such polymers find applications in smart sensors, drug delivery, and tissue engineering.
