Stir bar sorptive extraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011422
A sample preparation technique that uses a stir bar coated with a sorbent material to extract analytes from a liquid sample. The stir bar is placed in the sample, and analytes partition into the sorbent phase during stirring. After extraction, the stir bar is removed and the analytes are typically desorbed thermally for analysis by gas chromatography.
