Actuator
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000200
A device that converts an input signal, typically electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic, into mechanical motion or force. In the context of polymers, smart polymer actuators can change shape or size in response to external stimuli such as temperature, pH, or electric fields. These devices are used in applications ranging from robotics to biomedical devices, offering precise control over movement.
