Pneumatic detector
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009051
A device that measures radiation by detecting the pressure change in a gas-filled chamber caused by the absorption of radiant energy. The absorbed radiation heats the gas, leading to an increase in pressure that is then measured. These detectors are often used in infrared spectroscopy for their broad spectral response.
