Π/n rad magnetic sector
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009050
A type of magnetic sector mass analyzer where the angle of deflection for the central ion path is defined as π/n radians, with n being an integer greater than or equal to 2. In this configuration, ions travel through a uniform magnetic field that bends their trajectory by a specific angle before they reach the detector. A common example is the 90° sector, where n equals 2, corresponding to a π/2 radian deflection.
