Pyroelectric detector
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009701
A type of thermal detector that measures changes in temperature by sensing the electric charge generated on the surface of a pyroelectric material. When infrared radiation is absorbed, the material's temperature changes, altering its spontaneous polarization and inducing a measurable current or voltage. These detectors are widely used in infrared spectroscopy and thermal imaging applications.
