End-capping
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003882
A chemical modification process applied to the terminal functional groups of a polymer chain to alter its properties. This typically involves reacting the reactive end groups with a capping agent to render them inert. End-capping can reduce degradation, prevent unwanted side reactions, or modify solubility characteristics.
