Environmental factor

A non-genetic influence originating from the external surroundings that affects the development, health, or behavior of an organism. These factors can be physical, chemical, or biological and interact with an organism's genetic makeup to determine its characteristics. Examples include diet, exposure to pollutants, temperature, and social interactions.
