Equilibrium melting temperature
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004064
The theoretical melting temperature of a perfectly formed, infinitely large polymer crystal, free from defects and kinetic limitations. This value represents the thermodynamic melting point where the crystalline and amorphous phases are in equilibrium. It is typically determined by extrapolating experimental melting temperatures of crystals with varying lamellar thicknesses to infinite thickness.
