Hoffman-Weeks plot

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005330

A graphical method used to determine the equilibrium melting temperature of a semicrystalline polymer. The observed melting temperature of a sample is plotted against the temperature at which it was crystallized. The resulting data points are extrapolated to intersect the line where the melting temperature equals the crystallization temperature, with this intersection point giving the equilibrium melting temperature.
