Female fertility index

The percentage of mated females found pregnant in a rodent reproductive toxicity study, that is pregnant females over mated females, times 100. It measures conception success after mating, which separates fertility problems from later pregnancy losses. It is distinct from the gestation index, which is the percentage of pregnant females that deliver live young.
