Fixed dose procedure

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004457

An animal welfare-oriented acute toxicity testing method that uses a small number of animals and predefined dose levels to determine a starting dose for subsequent studies or to classify a substance's toxicity. Instead of determining a precise lethal dose, it focuses on identifying doses that produce clear signs of toxicity or no toxicity. This procedure aims to reduce animal suffering and the number of animals used in testing.
