Fitting equation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004456

A mathematical expression used to describe the relationship between a set of experimental data points. This equation is derived by applying statistical methods to minimize the difference between the observed data and the values predicted by the equation. A common method for determining the parameters of a fitting equation is least squares regression.
