Copolymerisation composition equation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002573

A mathematical expression that describes the instantaneous composition of a copolymer formed from two monomers as a function of the monomer feed composition and their reactivity ratios. This equation is derived from the relative rates of monomer addition to the growing polymer chains. It is commonly known as the Mayo-Lewis equation.
