Zwitterionic copolymerisation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012821
A copolymerization that proceeds by a zwitterionic mechanism, in which the growing chain carries a cation at one end and an anion at the other. It typically pairs a nucleophilic monomer with an electrophilic one that attack each other's charged chain ends, and the classic case, 2-oxazoline with beta-propiolactone, gives an alternating copolymer.
