Nucleophilic chain polymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008137
A type of chain polymerization initiated by a nucleophile attacking an electrophilic monomer, leading to the formation of a growing polymer chain. The active center at the propagating end of the chain is typically an anion or a zwitterion. This mechanism is common in the polymerization of cyclic ethers and lactones.
