Ideal copolymerisation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005570
A copolymerization in which every growing chain end, whatever its terminal unit, prefers one monomer over the other to the same degree. For two monomers this means the ratio k11/k21 equals k12/k22, so the two reactivity ratios are reciprocals of each other. The special case in which both ratios equal 1 gives a copolymer with the same composition as the monomer feed.
