Random copolymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009919
A copolymerization process that results in a random copolymer, where the different monomer units are incorporated into the polymer chain in a statistically random order. This occurs when the propagating chain end shows little preference for adding one monomer over another. The composition of the resulting polymer often reflects the feed ratio of the monomers.
