Fluidized bed
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004514
A bed of solid particles through which a fluid (gas or liquid) is passed upwards at a velocity sufficient to suspend the particles, causing them to behave like a fluid. This creates excellent mixing and heat transfer characteristics. Fluidized beds are widely used in chemical reactors, dryers, and combustion systems.
