Separation temperature

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010755

The temperature held by the chromatographic bed when a separation is run isothermally, called the column temperature in column chromatography. Keeping it constant makes retention times and volumes reproducible from run to run. In temperature-programmed work the bed temperature changes during the run, and the temperature at which a peak maximum emerges is called the retention temperature.
