Bed volume
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001171
The total volume occupied by the stationary phase, typically a packed bed of particles, within a chromatographic column. This volume includes both the solid matrix and the interstitial spaces between the particles. It is a fundamental parameter in chromatography, influencing retention times and column capacity.
