Fluorescein isothiocyanate

A reactive derivative of fluorescein, commonly used as a fluorescent label in biological and chemical applications. It contains an isothiocyanate group that reacts with primary amines, forming a stable thiourea linkage. This compound emits green fluorescence when excited by blue light, with an excitation maximum around 495 nm and an emission maximum around 520 nm.
