Fluxomics
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004546
The quantitative study of metabolic fluxes, which are the rates of turnover of molecules through the interconnected pathways of a biological system. It aims to determine the flow of metabolites within a cell or organism under specific conditions by using techniques like isotopic labeling and mass spectrometry. The results are expressed as a rate, such as micromoles per gram of dry cell weight per hour.
