Foamed polyurethane sorbent
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004551
A type of solid sorbent material made from open-cell polyurethane foam, used for preconcentration and extraction of analytes from liquid or gas samples. Its porous, sponge-like structure provides a large surface area for the adsorption of target compounds, particularly nonpolar organic molecules. The sorbed analytes are subsequently recovered by elution with a suitable solvent or by thermal desorption for analysis.
