Focal unit
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004554
The unit at the core of a dendrimer molecule built from just one dendron, bonded to that dendron through its single free valence. The dendron is a regular tree of repeating units, with every path from the focal unit to an end-group crossing the same number of units. A multi-dendron dendrimer has an ordinary core joining several dendrons instead.
