Fractal agglomerate

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004623

An assembly of primary particles that are held together by weak forces, forming a structure with fractal characteristics. The mass of the agglomerate scales with a non-integer power of its radius, indicating a self-similar, irregular arrangement of its constituents. This structural property is quantified by a fractal dimension, which is less than the Euclidean dimension of the space it occupies.
