Franklin
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004646
A unit of electric charge in the centimeter-gram-second (CGS) electrostatic system, also known as the statcoulomb. One franklin is defined as the amount of charge that exerts a force of one dyne on an equal charge at a distance of one centimeter in a vacuum. This unit is rarely used in modern scientific contexts, which primarily employ SI units.
