Poise
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009065
The unit of dynamic viscosity in the centimeter-gram-second (CGS) system of units. One poise is defined as one dyne-second per square centimeter, or 0.1 Pascal-second (Pa·s) in SI units. This unit quantifies a fluid's resistance to shear flow, with higher values indicating a thicker, more viscous fluid.
