Fumigation

The process of exposing an area or substance to fumes or gases, typically for disinfection, pest control, or sterilization. This method involves releasing a volatile chemical agent into an enclosed space to penetrate materials and eliminate target organisms. Methyl bromide was historically used as a fumigant for agricultural products.
