Fundamental niche
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004722
The full range of environmental conditions and resources that a species can possibly use and tolerate in the absence of interspecific competition or predation. It represents the theoretical maximum ecological space a species could occupy. This concept contrasts with the realized niche, which is the actual range occupied due to biotic interactions.
