Glioma

A type of tumor that arises from glial cells, which are the supportive cells of the brain and spinal cord. These tumors can vary widely in their aggressiveness and prognosis, depending on the specific type of glial cell involved and the grade of the tumor. Astrocytomas, oligodendrogliomas, and ependymomas are common types of gliomas.
