HBA solvent
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005129
A hydrogen bond acceptor solvent, characterized by the presence of electronegative atoms (like oxygen or nitrogen) with lone pairs of electrons that can accept hydrogen bonds from a solute. These solvents do not possess acidic hydrogen atoms capable of donating hydrogen bonds. Examples include diethyl ether, acetone, and dimethyl sulfoxide.
