Hen test

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005205

A neurotoxicity assay used to evaluate the potential of a chemical to cause delayed neurotoxicity, particularly organophosphate-induced delayed neuropathy. Adult hens are exposed to the test substance, and their motor activity and coordination are observed for several weeks. This test assesses damage to the nervous system, especially in the spinal cord and peripheral nerves.
