Huisgen reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005414
A cycloaddition process involving the combination of a three-atom component, known as a 1,3-dipole, with a two-atom component, the dipolarophile. This reaction constructs a five-membered heterocyclic ring system. A prominent example is the reaction of an organic azide with an alkyne to produce a 1,2,3-triazole, which forms the basis of copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) click chemistry.
