Imprecision

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005733

The degree of scatter or variability among replicate measurements obtained under the same conditions. It reflects the random errors in an analytical procedure, indicating the lack of closeness among individual results. Imprecision is quantitatively expressed by measures such as standard deviation, variance, or coefficient of variation.
