Inversion time

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006062

The delay period between the 180° inversion pulse and the subsequent 90° excitation pulse in an inversion recovery nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiment. This time allows for the partial recovery of longitudinal magnetization. It is adjusted to selectively nullify signals from components with specific spin-lattice relaxation times.
