Inversion recovery sequence
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006061
A nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) pulse sequence that begins with a 180-degree inversion pulse, followed by a variable delay time, and then a 90-degree excitation pulse. This sequence is primarily used to measure the spin-lattice (T1) relaxation time of nuclear spins. The signal intensity observed after the 90-degree pulse depends on the extent of T1 relaxation during the delay, with the signal passing through a null point at a specific inversion time.
