90° pulse
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000024
A radiofrequency pulse in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy that rotates the net magnetization vector of nuclear spins by 90 degrees from the equilibrium z-axis into the xy-plane. This action creates a transverse magnetization that can be detected as an NMR signal. It is the initial pulse in most basic NMR experiments.
