Kuhn segment
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006390
A theoretical concept representing an imaginary segment of a polymer chain that behaves as a rigid rod, statistically independent of its neighbors. It is used to simplify the description of the conformational properties of a flexible polymer chain. The length of a Kuhn segment, known as the Kuhn length, is a measure of chain stiffness.
