Hard-segment phase domain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005102
A distinct region within a block copolymer, particularly in segmented polyurethanes or polyureas, formed by the aggregation of rigid, high-melting polymer segments. These domains provide physical crosslinks and contribute to the material's mechanical strength and elasticity. They are typically responsible for the high-temperature performance of the material.
